Top Tier Roos Summer 2023 Team Tryouts Standouts Part 3

From December 2nd-4th, the Top Tier Roos held their Summer 2023 Team Tryouts which took place at the Courthouse Performance Center along with the Yankees Spring Training complex in Tampa, FL. Over the three-day stretch players went through bullpens, a pro-style workout, and game action on the final day of the event. With over 300 players in attendance ranging from the 2023-2028 classes, there was plenty of talent all over the field.

Below is Part 3 of the standouts highlighted from the event that made an impact on our scouting staff and will be strong follows moving forward as we head into the spring season. Part 2 can be found HERE

2024 SS/RHP Cameron Guise (Sickles HS, FL)

Uncommitted. Continued to stand out as one of the top two-way prospects to follow heading into the spring. Fast, loose hands offensively that allow him to find the barrel for hard hit line drives. More power to come. Above average arm across the diamond that tops out at 90 mph with throws that are accurate to the bag, show carry. Moves well laterally. On the mound he runs his fastball up to 89 mph with a feel for his offspeed stuff as well. Guise looks poised for a breakout spring.

2025 C Nathan Brewer (Jesuit HS, FL)

Uncommitted. Present physicality throughout. Stood out offensively where he displayed a quick bat from the right side, ripping multiple pitches back up the middle for hard line drives during his batting practice rounds. Simple approach and drives the ball with intent.

2025 UT Lucas Cinnante (Tampa Catholic, FL)

Uncommitted. Lean, athletic frame that projects to add physicality. Really liked the offensive potential as he showed a present feel for the barrel, squaring it up for deep line drives all over the field. Stays balanced and direct to the ball. Top of the order hitter that should be able to produce plenty of extra base hits. Makes the plays up the middle with an above average arm. Strong follow.

2025 C Josiah Figueroa (Aliyah Academy, FL)

Uncommitted. Long, athletic frame with room to continue to fill out. Barreled it up several times during his batting practice rounds for deep drives into left field. Expect to see jumps in power as he becomes more physical. Strong follow.

2026 MIF Kasey Mink (Palm Harbor University, FL)

Uncommitted. Had one of the best overall weekends among the entire group. Offensively he stood out during batting practice, consistently driving the ball with intent and showing above average bat speed from the right side. Present feel for the barrel and drove the ball all over the field. This translated to game action when he laced a ball over the center fielder’s head for a double in his first at-bat of the day. Above average defender as well which was seen during game action when he made back-to-back tough plays at shortstop, including a backhand deep in the hole with an accurate and strong throw to 1B for the out. Strong follow.

2026 C Kyle Koslin (JW Mitchell HS, FL)

Uncommitted. Physical lower half. From the right side he creates loud contact off the bat to the pull side while showing the ability to go the other way as well. This translated to game action where he was able to fight off a pitch with two strikes, delivering a hit into shallow right field. Then used aggressive base running and turned it into a double.

2026 OF/RHP Paxton Dulski (Calvary Christian HS, FL)

Uncommitted. Long, projectable frame. Offensively he displayed quick hands from the right side which was seen during game action, driving a ball the other way into right field for a line drive single. Above average arm from the outfield as his throws were accurate, showed carry to the bag. Lots to like moving forward, strong follow.

2026 1B/3B Drew Gerber (East Lake HS, FL)

Uncommitted. Athletic frame that projects. Above average bat speed from the right side. Stays balanced, uses his strong hands to drive the baseball. Stood out during batting practice where he produced multiple loud, hard hit line drives. This translated to game action when he drove in two as he laced a ball into deep center field for a double. Strong follow.

2026 IF/RHP Brett Garcy (Calvary Christian HS, FL)

Uncommitted. Lean, athletic frame. Put together a pair of loud rounds of batting practice, driving the ball with intent deep into the gaps. Confident approach. More power to come, especially as he fills out his frame. Up to 82 mph on the bump as well. Strong follow.

2027 IF David Lazaro (N/A, FL)

Young hitter to follow moving forward. Displayed quick hands from the left side of the plate, driving the ball back up the middle and to the pull side for several hard hit line drives. Stayed balanced throughout and worked in rhythm.

2027 C Carson Cocco (East Lake HS, FL)

Tall frame with a strong lower half. Another young bat to follow as he showed the ability to drive the ball all over the field, implementing his lower half into the swing. Gap-to-gap power potential.
