Apr 28 Longoria Tosses Complete Game Shutout as Raiders Advance

Last night the Leto Falcons visited the Plant City Raiders in what would end up resulting in a 5-0 shutout victory for the home team led by 2023 RHP Adan Longoria.

Longoria turned in a strong outing for the Raiders in his first playoff start as he pitched a Complete Game shutout, racking up 4 strikeouts and allowing just 5 hits in his outing. The Uncommitted 2023 RHP dominated the Falcons lineup throughout the entire night by inducing weak contact along with plenty of swings and misses.

2023 3B Wyatt Fordham was the key contributor on offense for the Raiders as he drove one along the right field line with the bases loaded for an RBI triple that capped off a huge four run first inning.

That would be all the Raiders would need on offense for the night as Longoria continued to put away the opposing lineup before retiring the final Leto batter via a strikeout to end the game.

With the win the Raiders will move on to face Strawberry Crest in the next round of the 6A District 8 FHSAA Playoffs.

2023 RHP Adan Longoria (Plant City HS, FL)
Uncommitted. Currently stands at 6-foot-3, 190 pounds on a frame with plenty of upside. Whippy, quick arm. Featured a 85-88 mph fastball with late life while mixing in a nasty 79-81 mph slider. Really showed an above average feel for the slider, throwing it for strikes consistently while generating swings and misses. There’s more in the tank. Longoria will continue to be a strong follow going forward.

Uncommitted. Showed great ability to find the barrel of the bat and create loud, hard contact. In the first inning he drove in 3 runs off of an RBI triple, hit deep along the right field line.
