Standouts (Part 2 of 2)
By: Mike Maerz and Anthony Zurita

Mike’s Second Group

2028 MIF Julius Jessurun (Wiregrass HS, FL)
Uncommitted. Athletic frame that will continue to become more physical, translate to jumps in his overall game. Offensively from the right side he displays an aggressive approach with quick hands through the zone. Line drive producer and when he is on time has the ability to drive the ball deep into the gaps for extra base hits. Ranges freely to his left and right up the middle defensively, allowing him to field the ball under control and with confidence. Throws topped out at 81 mph across the diamond with accuracy. Above average feel for the game.

2027 MIF/RHP Josiah Guevara (Wesley Chapel HS, FL)
Uncommitted. Lean frame with quick twitch, athletic actions. Offensively he displayed loose, fast hands from the right side and worked back up the middle during batting practice for plenty of hard line drives. Still more power to unlock. Clocked in with a standout time of 6.72 seconds in the 60 yard dash and makes the plays up the middle defensively with ease. Impressive outing on the mound during game action as he generated multiple swings and misses. Featured a fastball up to 85 mph with life along with a mid 60s curveball, low 70s changeup.

2028 LHP/OF Carson Wheatley (Pasco HS, FL)
Uncommitted. Projectable and athletic frame with multiple above average tools. On the mound he comfortably found the zone with simple and strong mechanics with utilization of the lower half. Featured a fastball up to 85 mph with off-speed stuff in the low 70s. Mowed down opposing hitters during game action. From the outfield he displayed a strong arm, topping out at 86 mph on his throws. From the right side of the plate he found the barrel with consistency. Produced plenty of line drives all over the field.

2027 C/RHP Brody Marks (Land O’ Lakes HS, FL)
Uncommitted. Physical frame, most notably in the lower half. Offensively from the right side he created hard contact while driving the ball deep into center field and the left-center field gap. Some present pop to the pull side as well. Above average arm from behind the plate with throws that were accurate to the bag with carry. On the mound he displayed consistent mechanics during his delivery to provide a strong presence. Fastball up to 88 mph paired with a curveball, slider and changeup that all mixed in well.

Anthony’s Second Group

2028 IF Alex Capezzuti (Alfonzo Baseball Academy, FL)
Uncommitted. A great showing of power from the left side. At the plate, the swing was fluent and quiet with controlled mechanics. Pull side ability with line drives up the middle as well. Provided a leg kick that was balanced with the rest of his approach. Kept weight on the back side that helped with the raw power. Great feel for the zone and quick bat speed. Defensively at 1B he stayed down on the ball and supplied throws on a line to the target.

2028 RHP/OF Javier Delgado (Bartow HS, FL)
Uncommitted. Mobile, athletic frame that is fundamentally sounded on the mound and at the plate. Works in the low 80s with a fastball that he pinpoints well. Mixes in some off speed that keeps good zone presence. Provided several swing and misses in his outing. Comfortable windup with solid mechanics. Offensively he possesses a quick toe tap that keeps his barrel path on plane with the rest of his body. Line drive hitter that lives up the middle and out the infield. A lot to like from him moving forward.

2029 RHP/IF Knox Myers (Undecided, FL)
Uncommitted. A rising young arm that impressed many at his bullpen. Strong lower half extension on every pitch. Showcased a fastball that topped 87, paired it with a nasty splitter in the low 70s and a slider. The arsenal was dominant as well as the command and confidence. At the plate he showed a quiet upper half with good bat speed.

2027 RHP/OF Crafton Gaczewski (Gaither HS, FL)
Uncommitted. Athletic, physical build that brought his skills to the mound and at the plate. In his bullpen he displayed a mid 80s fastball and a changeup, slider combo that had an impressive break. Uses his whole body with a very good follow through. Offensively he starts wide and low with a patient back side. A line drive hitter with the ability to hit for power as well. He has a great understanding of his mechanics and his body.

2026 RHP Parker Burrmann (Cypress Creek HS, FL)
Uncommitted. A crafty arm that brings a lot to the mound with this arsenal. He displayed a great balance of mechanics and good usage of his lower/upper half. Fastball was sitting 77-78 mph with arm side run, curveball at 64 mph with high break action, and a changeup at 72 mph that drops exponentially. All three pitches paired impressively together to generate tunneling. Follow through was consistent on each delivery.
