Power Baseball 2025 Summer Season Tryout Camp Standouts Part 1

From January 10-12th, 350+ players from the 2026-2029 classes participated in this year’s Power Baseball 2025 Summer Season Tryout Camp, taking place at Turn2 Sports & Performance and Lake Brantley HS for the first two days along with West Orange HS and South Lake HS. Players went through bullpens on Friday night followed by pro-style workouts on Saturday and then live games on Sunday. Below are a list of players (Part 1 of 3) our scouting staff felt stood out the most throughout the event and are strong follows heading into the spring season.

Mike’s First Group

2026 OF/RHP Colson May (Lake Minneola HS, FL)
Uncommitted. Athletic frame that continues to become more physical. Stood out as a two-way player with his presence on the mound starting to make noticeable strides. Quick arm and featured a fastball up to 89 mph while mostly sitting 86-88 with 2300+ RPM. Mixed in a curveball that ranged from 71-74 mph with 2500+ RPM and a low 80s changeup. Showed the ability to command his full arsenal. Still more in the tank. Offensively he displayed effortless hacks during batting practice, driving the ball with intent back up middle and into the gaps. Topped out at 88 mph from the outfield, showing carry and accuracy on each throw.

2026 OF/RHP/1B Andrew Barr (Lake Brantley HS, FL)
Uncommitted. Present athleticism and has continued to demonstrate his value as a two-way player. Threw an impressive bullpen as he pounded the zone with his full arsenal. Fastball sat 84-86 mph with still more in there along with a 79-80 mph changeup. Both the slider (mid 70s) and curveball (low 70s) had 2500+ RPM with tight spin, shape. Both pitches were thrown with confidence. Offensively from the left side the swing was quick and consistent through the zone with loose, quick hands. Showed pull side juice with a controlled leg kick and a feel for the barrel. Produced plenty of line drives as well.

2026 RHP/UT Nate Wade (Tocoi Creek HS, FL)
Kennesaw State commit. Compact, athletic frame. Featured a fast, whippy arm that allows the ball to really jump out of his hand, get on the batter quickly. Worked in the upper 80s (mostly 88-89) with his fastball while mixing in an 80-81 mph changeup with fade and a 76-77 mph slider with sharp break. Pitches up-tempo and looks to get the early strike. Can be utilized both in a starting role or relief role to get big outs when needed.

2027 RHP Christian Lynch (Oviedo HS, FL)
Uncommitted. Lean and athletic frame that will continue to fill out. Showed off high upside on the mound, running his fastball up to 92 mph. Mostly sat 88-91 with life while mixing in a low 80s changeup and a nasty slider in the mid 70s that consistently had 2550+ RPM. Generated multiple swings and misses during game action. Ball really jumps out of his hand with still more to come.

2027 RHP Noah Adkins (Hagerty HS, FL)
Uncommitted. Projectable frame that will fill out, translate to jumps in his overall stuff. Loose, easy working arm and showed an above average feel to pitch. Stays balanced and fluid in his delivery. Featured a fastball that was 87-90 mph, touching 91 with life. Also mixed in an above average changeup in the mid to upper 70s that displayed fade, generated uncomfortable swings. The breaking ball also had sharpness and depth to it. Arm that has a chance to really burst onto the scene.

2027 LHP Lukas Stirewalt (West Orange HS, FL)
Uncommitted. Tall and athletic frame that will continue to become more physical. The arm is loose and quick with still more to come. Fastball sat mostly in the 85-86 mph range, touching 87. Mixed in a 65-66 mph curveball with depth and shape along with a mid 70s changeup. Look for another jump in velocity this upcoming spring.

2028 RHP/IF Nolan Slaymaker (Columbia HS, FL)
Uncommitted. Displayed big time tools, notably on the mound and offensively. Big, physical frame with present strength throughout. Offensively the hands are fast through the zone and find the barrel often for loud, hard contact. Present power and can change the game with one swing. RBI producer. On the bump the arm is loose and quick with a fastball up to 89 mph and still more in there. Mixed in a nasty breaking ball in the mid 70s. Ball really jumps out of his hand, generates lots of swings and misses.

2027 RHP Trace Farmer (Fernandina Beach HS, FL)
Uncommitted. A Physical toolset that he displayed all weekend long. Hit 90 mph with his fastball in the bullpens and low 90s exit velocity during batting practice. Fundamentally sounded with the ability to generate raw power to his bat and arm. In the box, his hands have movement that transcends with the rest of his body to create hard contact. Definitely someone to make a note of heading into the spring & summer. 

2026 RHP Ayden Gonzalez (North Marion HS, FL)
Stetson commit. Steady reliable arm that touches 90 mph with the fastball. Mixes in a slider that plays well off his other pitches. Controlled leg kick during delivery with a follow through that stays on plane. During his live session, he threw to four batters and struck all of them out. Works fast and consistently with ease, impressive zone presence. 

2026 LHP James Faircloth (Tocoi Creek HS, FL)
Uncommitted. Efficient mechanics and a smooth, repeatable arm motion that enhances his consistency on the mound. His arsenal is well-controlled, featuring a fastball that tops out at 84 mph and a deceptive changeup at 74 mph, keeping hitters off balance. His ability to mix pitches effectively and locate within the zone makes him a challenging matchup for opposing batters. His refined delivery and command highlight his potential as a reliable and impactful pitcher. Big season coming up for him.

2026 IF Louis Hernandez (Lake Mary HS, FL)
Clemson commit. Tall physical frame that fills out impressively. In the infield, has quiet hands and feet approaching a ball, as well as putting his body in the right position to generate a power throw to the target. Offensively he stands in tall with a comfortable stance. Smooth hands that generate a likeable barrel path. Works gap to gap, great feel for the zone, and has no problem adjusting to what’s handed to him. 

2026 MIF Kian Crockett (Viera HS, FL)
Uncommitted. A polished infielder who brings consistency and precision to both his defense and offense. In the field, he showcases good footwork, strong instincts, and dependable glove work, making him a steady presence on the infield. At the plate, has a thoughtful approach, consistently producing quality at-bats and driving the ball effectively. His balanced skill set and dependable play, make him an integral part of any lineup. Talent trending up this year. 

2027 C/IF Johnny Parkinson (The First Academy, FL)
Uncommitted. A versatile catcher and infielder who utilizes his strong lower half and quick transfer to excel defensively. Behind the plate, he showcases smooth mechanics and an accurate arm, while his infield play is highlighted by solid footwork and reliable hands. At the plate,a hitter with a disciplined approach, consistently working deep counts and producing quality contact. His ability to impact the game both offensively and defensively makes him a valuable asset to any lineup. 

2027 OF Lathan Garrard (Lafayette HS, FL)
Uncommitted. Balanced frame that possesses athletic tools. Can run well on the bases and on defense. At the plate, starts spread out and keeps a good posture before swing starts. Strong usage of upper half that provided line drives during batting practice. Fills out on defense with proper arm accuracy. A lot to like with a big year coming.

2028 C Jackson Clark (Bishop Snyder HS, FL)
Uncommitted. Projectable athletic frame that puts together all of his mechanics well. At the plate he supplies a line drive approach with sneaky pop. Does a good job at keeping weight on the back side to generate an efficient barrel path. Behind the plate he has a strong impressive arm with throws on the line. Solid glove to hand transfer with great understanding of working well with his pitcher. A lot to like from a young talent that is trending upwards.
