The King's Academy Wins Big Over Benjamin 13-0
Yesterday afternoon The King’s Academy Lions visited the Benjamin Buccaneers and won in dominating fashion as they not only shut out the home team, but their offense received production up and down the lineup as they put up 13 runs which would eventually end the game in a mercy rule after 5 innings, 13-0.
For The King’s Academy, they got a stellar start from 2021 RHP Kyle Barnowski who struck out seven and allowed only one hit in four innings of work. The uncommitted righty sat 84-86 mph with his fastball, touching 87 while also mixing in a 66-67 mph curveball that showed depth and generated plenty of swings and misses. Barnowski also chipped in offensively, going 1-for-3 with a double and run scored.
Offensively, The King’s Academy had a standout day and were lead at the top of the lineup out of the 1-3 spots by 2020 OF Tripp Butler (2-for-4 with two runs scored, two RBIs) 2020 OF Robert Fox (3-for-4 with three runs scored, two RBIs) and 2021 OF Matt Faranda (1-for-3 with two runs scored, 2 RBIs) These three powered the Lions lineup during a 10-run fifth inning where it seemed like everyone got a hit including 2021 IF Collin Donnelly who went 1-for-3 on the day which included a two run double in the inning.
For The King’s Academy they moved to 6-2 on the season while The Benjamin School fell to 2-4.
