The 2019 WWBA World Championship Day 4 Recap

The 2019 WWBA Championships began in Jupiter, Florida on October 10th and features 95 of the top teams nationwide for one of the most heavily scouted baseball events in the country. Our media and scout team has been out and about at multiple games collecting pitcher velocities, video, big hits, taking notes, and more.

Below is a recap of standouts for the fourth day (October 13th) of action which was covered by the members of our team:

2021 MIF Kristian Campbell (East Cobb Astros/Padres Scout Team)
Long, lean projectable frame standing at 6-foot-3, 183 pounds. Shows very quick hands with a balanced approach. Laced one into left field for a line drive single during one of his at-bats. There’s more power to come as he fills out. Georgia Tech commit. Strong follow.

2020 C Sebastian “Bazz” Jimenez (FTB/Giants Scout Team)
The Florida State commit continued to punish the baseball as he smoked one deep into the left-center field gap for an RBI double during one of his at-bats. Jimenez consistently made hard, solid contact and barreled it up multiple times throughout the event.

2020 MIF Dustin Crenshaw (Rawlings National Scout Team-Sticks)
The Grand Canyon commit shows above average bat speed from the left side, hammered the ball deep into the left-center field gap for a standup double. 

2020 RHP Jovan Gill (FTB/Giants Scout Team)
Dominated in his outing and went the distance, tossing a complete game with 11 strikeouts, scattering three hits, and only allowing one run. Generated multiple swings and misses throughout his outing, sat 87-89 mph with his fastball, touching 90. Also featured a strong mix of offspeed stuff which was an 80-81 mph changeup that showed some fade, 75-76 mph curveball, and a 71-73 mph knuckleball. Stetson commit. 

2020 MIF Steven Ondina (FTB/Giants Scout Team)
The Florida International commit not only demonstrated himself as one of the elite defenders in his class throughout the event, but showed his offensive potential as well. During one of his at-bats earlier in the day, he laced a ball into the left-center field gap for a two-run double. Aggressive runner on the base paths. 

2020 IF Cole Fontelle (Baseball Northwest)
The Washington commit continued to show a feel for the barrel from the left side this weekend, squaring one up and driving it back up the middle for a line drive single. Confident approach and makes hard contact to the pull side. 

2020 MIF Dante Girardi (FTB/Giants Scout Team)
The Florida International commit was an offensive machine all throughout the event, driving in multiple runs. He delivered again yesterday, lacing a ball down the right field line for an RBI double. 

2020 OF Ian Farrow (Toronto Blue Jays Scout Team)
The Florida Gulf Coast commit.has gotten noticeably more physical and it looks to have translated on the field offensively. Drove one to right field for a line drive single during one of his at-bats, ball jumps off the bat when he squares it up. Quick hands, gap-to-gap type hitter. 

2020 OF Nolan Schanuel (FTB/Giants Scout Team)
The Florida Atlantic commit really squared the ball up with intent all throughout the event from the left side. During one of his at-bats during the game he drove a ball over the right fielder’s head for a ground rule double. Ball left the bat in a hurry. Also made a tough play diving to his left to make a catch in right field. 

2021 OF/LHP Matthew Prevesk (FTB Tucci)
The Florida commit continually has shown a feel for the barrel with  quick hands and a confident approach from the left side. Sat back on a pitch during one of his at-bats and took it the other way by lacing a ball down the left field line for an easy standup double. 

2020 MIF Sebastian Murillo (East Cobb Astros/Padres Scout Team)
The Long Beach State commit showed loose, quick hands with athleticism and he ripped a line drive back up the middle for an RBI single during one his at-bats. 

2020 OF Mario Zabala (FTB/Giants Scout Team)
The Florida International commit has easily been one of the most impressive bats at this event, continually driving the ball gap-to-gap and for multiple base hits. During one of his at-bats yesterday, he laced yet another line drive up the middle for a single. 

2021 C/IF Joe Mack (East Cobb Astros/Padres Scout Team)
The Clemson commit shows easy bat speed from the left side, ball really jumps off the bat. Athletic frame with quick hands. Scorched one past the first basemen for a single during the game. Strong follow. 

2020 OF Brandon Fields (FTB/Giants Scout Team)
The South Carolina commit continued to stay hot at the plate by driving one to left field for an RBI double during one his at-bats. The ball really explodes off the bat.
