Players of the Game

2021 1B/LHP Jayden Lopez (Cypress Creek HS, FL)
A solid two way performance including a 2-4 performance at the plate that included an RBI single. On the mound, he was dominant, showing good feel for 3 pitches that he could mix well to both sides of the plate. 10 Ks, no walks in 4 innings.

2024 RHP Robert Mitchell (Lake Nona HS, FL)
In 3 innings of pitching, he was able to notch 7 Ks while sitting low to mid 80s with his fastball. He showed a plus feel for his off speed, with a good mix of a slider that he could throw in any count and a change up that kept hitters off balance.

2021 MIF Jeffrey Mercedes (Cypress Creek HS, FL)
Uncommitted. Went 2-3, 1B, 2B, BB. A force at the plate, he showcased his power by short hopping the wall in left field and made loud, hard contact on a baseball up the middle. He showed great discipline at the plate and didn’t chase bad pitches.

2021 C Hector Rodriguez (Cypress Creek HS, FL)
Uncommitted. Went 2-4, 2 1B. Showed strong ability at the plate as well as showcased leadership behind the dish. Generated loud hard contact and was the catalyst that got the bats going.
