Diamond Prospect Media Summer 2022 All-Uncommitted 2nd Team Released

This past summer season our scouting staff was able to see hundreds of players who stood and made an impact for their team. Tonight, we are releasing our Summer 2022 All-Uncommitted 2nd Team which features the top uncommitted players we covered during the summer season. 

*Please note, these are players our scouting staff was able to see throughout the summer. We know that there are many other uncommitted players who made an impact for their team as well. As always, please feel free to reach out to let us know how you performed and how we can make sure we see you during the fall. 

Congratulations to the following players on their great performances throughout the summer season. 

2nd Team C

2023 C Luis Turmero (Figs Baseball Prospects, FL)

  • Currently stands at 6-foot, 200 lbs on a physical frame with a strong lower half. Offensively Turmero displays above average bat speed from the right side with present strength throughout that allows him to drive the ball deep into the gaps for extra base hits. An abive average defender behind the plate with a strong, accurate arm(best pop time of 1.91s) that shows plenty of carry. Sticks pitches well.

2nd Team 1B

2024 1B Brady Roberts (Power Baseball, FL)

  • Currently stands at 6-foot on a big, strong frame with present strength throughout. Quick bat from the left side that can impact the baseball with intent. Roberts displays some real pull side juice with and above average feel for the barrel. The ball really jumps off the bat. Suited to drive in runs in the heart of the order.

2nd Team MIF

2023 IF/RHP Mikey Clifford (Ostingers Baseball Academy, FL) Committed to Anderson University

  • Stands at 6-foot on a lean athletic frame with room to fill out. Should translate to additional jumps in power. At the plate Clifford displays loose, quick hands through the zone on a balanced swing. Able to drive the ball back up the middle and go with the pitch the other way for run scoring hits. Also up to 87 mph on the mound with his fastball.

    2024 MIF Julius Pfau (Power Baseball, FL) Committed to Georgetown University

  • Lean, athletic frame with more to come. At the plate Pfau displays fast hands through the zone and is ready to jump on his pitch early in the count, drive it into the gaps. Above average athleticism which translates on the basepaths where he is an above average runner (Sub 6.7s 60). Great impact player to have at the top of the order.

2nd Team 3B

2024 IF Akhil Nimmala (Ostingers Baseball Academy, FL)

  • Long, athletic frame that will continue to fill out and become more physical. Ball really jumps off the bat and he finds the barrel often for loud, hard contact. Has the ability to drive the ball deep into the gaps, present power to the pull side. Defensively Nimmala displays confident hands with a strong, accurate arm across the diamond as well.

2nd Team OF

2023 OF Brody Pezza (Power Baseball, FL)

  • Lean, athletic frame that will continue to fill out, become more physical. Pezza displays free and easy hands from the right side with some feel for the barrel that works gap-to-gap. Above average speed as well that translates to the basepaths and in the outfield, where he is a rangy defender.

    2023 OF/RHP Derek Westfall (Ostingers Baseball Academy, FL) Committed to Queens University of Charlotte

  • Currently stands at 5-foot-10 on a physical frame with a strong lower half. Westfall displays fast hands from the left side with some pull side pop. Does a good job of staying balanced through his swing. Defensively, he showcases strong, accurate throws from the OF with plenty of carry. Up to 88 mph on the mound with a nasty slider in the upper 70‘s. 

    2024 OF/RHP Cooper Hinson (Ostingers Baseball Academy, FL)

  • Athletic frame that continues to develop. At the plate Hinson displays a smooth swing from the left hand side with quick hands through the zone and a good feel for the barrel. Expect jumps in gap-to-gap power to come. Confident defender with high level instincts all over the field.

2nd Team SP

2023 RHP Skylar Stinson (Power Baseball, FL) Committed to Barry University

  • Lean, athletic frame that will continue to develop. Pounds the zone and creates multiple swings and misses. His fastball sits 85-88 touching 89 mph with 2350+ RPM. He also shows an above average feel for his offspeed pitches with his curveball(70-73 with 2500+ RPM) slider(76-78 with 2600+ RPM), and changeup in the upper 70s with fade. Whippy arm with more in the tank. Strong follow.

    2023 LHP Eli Roberts (FL Prime, FL) Committed to Flagler University

  • Quick arm that pounds the zone. Roberts displays a simple windup and works down in the zone with the fastball. His fastball sits 84-87 touching 88 mph with 2500+ RPM. He also mixes in a changeup at 76-77 and curveball at 72-74 mph with depth.

    2023 RHP Matthew Someillan (SoFlo Lime, FL)

  • Athletic frame that will continue to fill out, become more physical. His fastball sits mostly 87-90 mph with 2300+ RPM with late run. He also mixes in an effective curveball at 73-76 mph that shows depth, gets swings and misses with it. Loose, quick arm with more in the tank.

2nd Team Two Way

2025 MIF/RHP Merrick Rapoza (FL Prime, FL)

  • Currently stands at 6-foot-one on an athletic frame that will continue to become more physical. Rapoza displays above average bat speed from the left side, creating hard contact and lacing the ball into the gaps. Quick arm on the mound. Fastball sits 79-82, touching 83 mph. He's also shown a good feel for his curveball sitting 69-70 mph with depth.

    2025 OF/LHP Jackson Lucas (Florida Burn, FL)

  • Currently stands at 5-foot-11 on an athletic frame that will continue to fill out. Offensively form the left side Lucas has a confident approach and displays loose, fast hands through the zone. Present feel for the barrel. On the mound his fastball sits 77-80 mph, touching 81. He also shows good feel for his offspeed pitches with his changeup sitting 72-74 and curveball at 62-65 mph.
