Baumann Deals, Huskies Down Lake Brantley 5-3
It was a beautiful night out as the Lake Brantley Patriots visited the Hagerty Huskies in a tightly contested matchup that would ultimately end in a 5-3 victory for the home team. 2023 RHP Garrett Baumann (Hagerty HS, FL) was dominant on the mound, finishing with 7 strikeouts, scattering four hits, walking none and allowing only a single run in 4.1 Innings pitched. 2022 INF Stewart Puckett (Hagerty HS, FL) contributed to the offense with a solid night, going 2-3 at the plate with a run scored
2024 OF/LHP Talan Bell gave the Huskies an early 1-0 lead in the 1st inning, bringing home 2022 Util Cameron King on a line drive single into right field. The Huskies tacked on two additional runs in the bottom of the 1st, giving them an early 3-0 lead. In the bottom of the 4th the Huskies would strike again, pushing across another run to extend their lead to 4-0. Baumann continued to put away the opposing lineup.
In the top of the fifth Lake Brantley started to chip away at the deficit, pushing across three runs in the inning. 2022 C Luke Heyman got the Patriots on the board first, lacing an RBI single to left field. 2021 Maverick Stallings then added another RBI Single, followed by Ethan Beal scoring on a passed ball to make the game 4-3. However, 2021 IF Bryce Fitzgerald would come through in the bottom of the 6th for the Huskies with a key RBI single, giving them a 5-3 lead.
Talan Bell would close out the night for the Huskies with five strikeouts and two hits allowed in 2.2 innings pitched, shutting down the Patriots in the 6th and 7th quickly.
With the win the Hagerty Huskies moved to 9-9 while the Lake Brantley Patriots fell to 15-2.

2023 RHP Garrett Baumann (Hagerty HS, FL)
UCF commit. Strong, extra large frame standing at 6-foot-7. Dominated during his outing where he generated lots of swings and misses with multiple strikeouts. Simple windup and throws lots of strikes, putting the batter behind early in the count. An uptick in velocity is coming. Big arm to follow.
2024 LHP/OF Talan Bell (Hagerty HS, FL)
Florida State commit. Worked through some early jams in the 5th to the come in and dominate the 6th and 7th inning, striking out the side. Ball jumps out of his hand. Also showed offensive potential, driving a ball into right-center field for an RBI single in the first inning. Very strong follow.
2022 C Luke Heyman (Lake Brantley HS, FL)
Florida commit. Drove a ball into left field in the 5th inning for an RBI Single. Strong lower body, uses it to drive the ball with intent. Heyman is a top bat in his class nationally and can really make an impact on the lineup.
2022 INF Stewart Puckett (Hagerty HS, FL)
USF Commit. Puckett was 2-3 at the plate and scored a run as he led the Huskies in hits on the night. Showed great patience at the plate. Consistently found the barrel and created loud, hard hits.
