Hornets Down Lions 5-1 Behind Timely Hitting, Strong Pitching
Last night the Bishop Moore Hornets visited the Oviedo Lions in a matchup that featured a late offensive surge from the visiting team in an eventual 5-1 victory. Notable performances at the plate came from 2021 C/1B Isaiah Montes(Edward Waters Commit) and 2022 C/Util Josh Haggerty. 2021 RHP Aiden Lenzen (Sewanee: University of the South Commit) would earn the win for the Hornets, racking up six strikeouts and surrendering one run over five and two-thirds innings.
The Hornets got out to an early 1-0 lead in the second inning with Josh Haggerty lacing a ball into left field for an RBI double. Bishop Moore added onto that lead with John Bedbell hitting a sac-fly into center field that would bring in Haggerty to score.
The Hornets didn't take their foot off of the gas as they added three more runs in the top of the 6th. Josh Haggerty laid down a sacrifice bunt to bring in a runner, followed by Ryan Missigman bringing in two runners on an RBI single to make the score 5-0.
The Lions attempted to chip away at the large deficit in the bottom of the 6th inning with Cullen hitting a line drive RBI double into left field, but it would fall short as 2022 RHP/OF Gregory Bori made quick work of the Lions lineup in the seventh securing a Hornets 5-1 victory.
With the win, the Hornets moved to 6-9 while the Lions fell to 12-7 on the year.

2021 RHP Aiden Lenzen (Bishop Moore Catholic, FL)
The Sewanee:University of the South Commit got the start for the away team and was very effective against the opposing lineup through the first five and two-thirds innings, racking up six strikes and surrendering one run. Easy, repeatable delivery, doesn't tip pitches, and isn't afraid to throw strikes to both sides of the plate.
2021 C/1B Isaiah Montes (Bishop Moore Catholic, FL)
Edward Waters College Commit. Currently stands at 6-foot, 210 pounds on a physical frame. Was one of the key contributors for the Hornets as he went 2-for-2 at the plate with 2 runs scored. Aggressive hitter with some feel for the barrel.
2021 OF Logan Terrell (Oviedo HS, FL)
Uncommitted. Led Oviedo offensively by going 2-3 at the plate, while contributing their lone run of the night. Showed great patience at the plate.
2022 C/Util Josh Haggerty (Bishop Moore Catholic, FL)
Uncommitted. Was 2-for-2 at the plate with 2 RBIs while scoring a run himself. Ball really jumps off the bat and creates hard contact. During one of his at-bats early in the game he turned on a fastball and laced into left field for an RBI double.
