Power Baseball 2022 Summer Teams Tryout Camp Standouts Part 2

This past weekend Power Baseball held their 2022 Summer Teams Tryout Camp for players from the 2023-2026 classes. The Power Baseball program has quickly become one of the top organizations not only in the competitive state of Florida over the past five years, but nationally as well with dozens of players who have gone on and made an impact at various levels.

With over 300 players in attendance, the tryouts stretched over three days which included bullpens on Friday night, a pro-style workout on Saturday, and additional evaluations on Sunday. Over the next few days we will be highlighting multiple players from various classes who stood out to our scouting staff throughout the weekend. Below is Part 2 of the Standouts breakdown which features a detailed report on 15+ players.

2023 MIF Braden Holcomb (Foundation Academy, FL)
Vanderbilt commit. Currently stands at 6-foot-4, 215 pounds on a tall, physical, athletic frame. One of the top prospects in his class nationally as he immediately stands out when he steps on the field. Above average athleticism that has been shown previously with 60 times in the 6.7 area. Lightning bat speed, finds the barrel consistently for loud, hard contact, and can drive the ball deep into the gap or over the wall. Registered a top exit velocity of 108 mph during batting practice which included one of the pitches going way over the left field wall. Ball explodes off the bat. Up the middle he ranges freely to his left and right, fielding the ball under control and with confidence. Throws across the diamond topped out at 94 mph. Will be a top draft follow in the state for his class over the next year and a half.

Offensively he showed off a quick, sweet swing from the left side during batting practice. 2026 OF Ethan Rathmann (Olympia HS, FL)
Currently stands at 5-foot-9, 150 pounds on a lean, athletic frame. Young player that really stood out throughout the entire weekend, held his own going up against players a grad class older. Started off the day by clocking in at an impressive 6.67 time for his 60 yard dash. Offensively he showed present bat speed and produced multiple line drives back up the middle during batting practice. Confident approach and stays balanced throughout. Works in rhythm. Also showed off an above average arm from the outfield during defensive drills, topping out at 85 mph. Young player with multiple above average tools that will be a strong follow moving forward.

On the mound he displayed a fast arm and mostly sat 88-89 mph with his fastball. Quick, up tempo-delivery and pounds the strike zone. Also mixed in a 77-78 mph changeup and 69-72 mph curveball with depth. The switch hitter whips his hands through the zone and creates loud contact from both sides of the plate, producing multiple line drives with pull side juice from the right side. Big arm from behind the plate with a very quick release and above average footwork, allowing him to fire the ball down to the bag with carry and accuracy. Throws topped out at 84 mph with pop times in the 1.88-1.93 seconds range. Legit two-way prospect who can make lots of impact throughout the lineup.

Continued to demonstrate loose, quick hands from the left side with a level to uphill swing that finds the barrel for hard contact. Works in rhythm and stays balanced throughout his swing. Ball really jumps off the bat and he ripped several pitches right back up the middle during batting practice. Showed some present pull side juice as well. Has made some noticeable improvements behind the plate defensively as well as his throws have come out quicker, translating to a best pop time of 2.0. Accurate throws as well. Backstop with an impact left-handed bat. Strong follow.

More in the tank, especially as he continues to fill out. Very strong follow this spring.

2024 RHP Cannon Feazell (Windermere HS, FL)
