Longoria’s Dominant Performance Lifts the Raiders 5-1 vs Bloomingdale

It was a chilly night out in Plant City, Florida as the Raiders took on the Bloomingdale Bulls, who were 7-0 before the game started. It was a pitchers duel during the first 4 innings as 2021 LHP (Bloomingdale) David Eckaus dealt along with 2023 RHP/IF Adan Longoria tossing 5 2/3 efficient innings and striking out 9.

2022 INF/RHP Jack Owens gave the Bulls an early 1-0 lead in the top of the 2nd Inning, turning on a fastball over the left field fence for a solo shot.

Bottom of the 3rd was when the Raiders decided to make some noise. A lead off walk to 2021 C Jack Brosky, along with 2021 OF Kelein Johnson knocking a double in the gap put runners on 2nd and 3rd with 0 outs. David Eckaus followed up the next 2 hitters with strikeouts, but miscommunication in the infield managed to put 2 runs on the board for the Raiders.

Longoria continued to settle in nicely, and it only gave the Raiders more momentum. In the Bottom of the 5th, A leadoff walk to 2021 Jack Brosky, a single from Kelein Johnson, and a single from 2022 Jace Stines loaded up the bases with 0 outs. 2022 SS Anthony Grasso delivered with an infield single to make it 3-1. A wild pitch would later score Stines, and a single up the middle from 2022 RHP/IF Colin Shultz would make it a 5-1 game.

2022 OF/RHP Carson Mohler came in relief for Longoria, who closed out the 5-1 victory for the Raiders in an exciting matchup.

2023 RHP/INF Adan Longoria (Plant City)
The 6'3 190 Frame was efficient during his 5 2/3 innings of work. Longoria had 9 strikeouts and only allowed 1 hit on 1 run. Showed good bite to the CV with late life on his FB. Uncommitted RHP with a high ceiling as he continues to develop. Strong-Follow.

2022 OF/RHP Carson Mohler(Plant City)
Mohler came in relief last night as he showed an effective fastball with lots of life. Arm Side Run followed with good bite to the slider. Stocky Frame, 6'3 215 ILB will be a strong follow this season and won't be on the radar for much longer.

2021 LHP David Eckaus (Bloomingdale)
Eckaus delivered a stellar outing last night, tossing 4 strong innings, allowing only 1 hit on 2 unearned runs, followed by 8 K's. Eckaus is a FIU signee with a very high ceiling. His mechanics showed a short arm action and FB came in quick. Worked both sides of the plate along with working multiple eye levels that kept hitters off balance.

2022 RHP Trey Wilson (Bloomingdale)
Wilson came in relief last night and struck out 4 in 2 scoreless innings of work. Very projectable 6'2 180 frame that will continue to develop. FB worked primarily low in the zone with sharp break to his CV.

2022 INF/RHP Jack Owens (Bloomingdale)
The Stetson recruit had a short and compact swing which took a ball deep over the left field wall. He has also been up to 90 mph on the mound in previous events. Owens' athleticism shows that he has a very high ceiling and has a lot of room to fill along with physical maturity.
