2020 Power Baseball Tryouts Class of 2023 Standouts
This past weekend Power Baseball held their 2020 Summer Team Tryouts at the Turn 2 Sports and Performance Center along with Rollins College over a three day stretch which included bullpens Friday night, pro-style workout on Saturday, and games on Sunday. Power Baseball has quickly become not only one of the top organizations in Florida, but nationally as well. With over 280 players in attendance at the tryouts, there were dozens of players who stood out and made an impact throughout the weekend.

Tonight we begin with 15+ standouts from the 2023 Class:
IF Braden Holcomb
Vanderbilt commit. Holcomb immediately stands out with his big, physical frame currently standing at 6-foot-4, 220 pounds. Shows present power to the pull side, barreled up everything during batting practice. Drove several balls deep into left field, makes a different sound coming off the bat. Very strong follow who is a game-changer in the lineup.
RHP/UT Ty Dodge
Uncommitted. Stood out all over the field throughout the weekend. Currently stands at 5-foot-9, 165 pounds with an athletic frame and stronger lower half. Displayed a gap-to-gap approach during batting practice, made hard contact. Trusts his hands with a present feel for the barrel. Strong, accurate throws from the outfield during defensive drills. On the mound he mostly sat 81-82 mph, touching 83 a few times while generating swings and misses. 72-73 mph curveball. Very quick arm with plenty of athleticism.
OF/RHP Nathan Seeber
Uncommitted. Currently stands at 6-foot-1, 155 pounds on an athletic, projectable frame. Offensively, he displayed quick hands with a feel for the barrel from the right side. Laced several hard line drives into the left field during batting practice. On the mound he has a loose, quick arm with much more in the tank. Mostly 80-81 mph fastball with life. Two-way who will make big jumps as he fills out.
C Kevin Hebert
Uncommitted. Currently stands at 5-foot-9, 150 pounds on a lean, athletic frame. Hebert was a standout all throughout the fall offensively and continued to do so this past weekend. Stays balanced throughout, shows above average bat speed, and a calm demeanor in the box. Laced multiple line drives into the left and left-center field gap during batting practice. Really can hit.
LHP/OF Holden Brauner
Uncommitted. Currently stands at 5-foot-8, 140 pounds on a lean frame. Athletic two-way who stood out in multiple ways throughout the weekend. Defensively, he was accurate on his throws to the bag, showing an above average arm with carry. Quick hands and drove several back up the middle during batting practice. On the mound he ran his fastball up to 78 mph with tailing action while mixing in a 67-68 mph curveball and a 70-71 mph changeup. Shows above average instincts.
UT/RHP Derek Lopez
Uncommitted. Currently stands at 5-foot-9, 135 on a lean frame with plenty of room to fill out. On the mound he showed a quick arm, running his fastball up to 80 mph while also mixing in a 62-63 mph curveball and 69-70 mph changeup. During the game he crushed a ball deep into the left-center field gap for a standup double. Loose, quick hands with a confident approach. Clocked in at 7.1 seconds for his 60 yard dash time.
RHP/OF Matt Misiti
Uncommitted. Currently stands at 5-foot-10, 151 pounds with an athletic frame. Loose, quick arm. Fastball mostly sat 80-81 mph with his fastball while mixing in a 69-70 mph curveball. Topped out at 81 mph from the outfield.
1B/RHP Ethan Davenport
Currently stands at 6-foot, 205 pounds on a strong frame. Throws a heavy fastball at 80-81 mph mixed in a 75-76 mph changeup with some fade and a 66-67 mph curveball with some slurvy action. Offensively, he created loud, hard contact and drove the ball to deep left and left-center field.
RHP/IF Brady Appel
Currently stands at 5-foot-11, 170 pounds on an athletic, projectable frame. Threw a strong bullpen on Friday night, running his fastball up to 82 mph. Mostly sat 80-81. Also mixed in a 65-66 mph curveball. Very quick arm, lots more in the tank.
RHP/MIF Matthew Perez
Uncommitted. Currently stands at 5-foot-10, 158 pounds on a lean, athletic frame. Pitches with a slower, deliberate windup. Sat mostly 81-82 mph, touching 83 with run along with a 69-70 mph curveball. Releases from a low 3/4 slot which creates some late movement.
MIF Darnell Parker Jr.
Uncommitted. Currently stands at 5-foot-7, 140 pounds. Stood out offensively where he showed quick hands, drove several the other way down the right field line during batting practice.
MIF Bryce Gluckman
Uncommitted. Currently stands at 5-foot-7, 145 pounds on a lean, athletic frame. Stood out offensively where he showed present bat speed from the right side of the plate, driving one back up the middle for a line drive single in his first at-bat during the game.
RHP Anthony Devita
Uncommitted. Currently stands at 6-foot, 140 pounds on a lanky, projectable frame. Ran his fastball up to 82 mph while showing a feel for his breaking ball, throwing it for strikes at 68-69 mph and a changeup at 71-72 mph. Gap-to-gap approach during batting practice with more power to come.
OF Javier Jordan
Uncommitted. Currently stands at 5-foot-9, 150 pounds with a lean, athletic frame. Shows above average actions and stood out offensively during batting practice. Present bat speed and sprayed the ball gap-to-gap. Clocked in at 7.09 seconds for his 60 yard dash time.
IF Carter White
Uncommitted. Currently stands at 5-foot-11, 165 pounds on a projectable, athletic frame. Loose, quick hands from the left side with some pull side pop. Works in rhythm and stays balanced throughout. The frame projects for more power, especially to the pull side.
