Blue Darters Continue to Roll, Move to 17-3 with Victory Over Boone

Last night the Boone Braves visited the Apopka Blue Darters in a matchup that saw the home team take an early lead and never let go. Notable performances at the plate came from 2022 Util Jacob Pino, 2021 IF Mike Sowers, and 2022 1B/3B Juan Cruz as all three delivered multiple hits in the game and key RBIs for the Blue Darters.

The Blue Darters got a hot start in the bottom of the second with an early 3-0 lead due to Jacob Pino driving a ball into centerfield for a two-run double, bringing in Juan Cruz and 2022 OF Winston Williams to score. 2021 IF Mike Sowers then doubled to bring in Pino and top off the three run inning. Apopka would then add onto their lead in the next inning as 2021 1B Jose Class hit a sac-fly into center field to bring in a runner, followed by Jacob Pino coming in to score off of an error and extend the lead to 5-0.

However, the Braves would eventually strike in the 5th inning with 2021 INF Frank Landeiro driving an RBI single down the left field line. The Braves continued to chip away at the deficit in the top of the 6th with another run scored off of a HBP making the score 5-2. Ultimately it would fall short as 2023 RHP Skylar Stinson and 2021 LHP Grayson Adams secured an Apopka 5-2 victory, with one inning of work respectively.

With the win the Blue Darters moved to 17-3 while the Braves fell to 6-13.
