The 2019 WWBA World Championship Uncommitted Standouts

The 2019 WWBA World Championship Uncommitted Standouts

As we continue our post-event coverage from Jupiter, today we look at several uncommitted players who will be strong follows moving forward and were standouts throughout the event:

2020 RHP Gerardo Cuevas (FTB/Giants Scout Team)
After recently de-committing, the right hander is one of the top 2020 arms now available. Currently stands at 6-foot, 200 pounds with a strong lower half. The ball jumps out of his hand with late life. Came in for relief a couple of times pumping fastballs where he sat 91-93 mph with multiple 92s and 93s. Also mixed in a 75-78 mph curveball that showed hard break when he was on top of it. Uses pauses throughout his windup to throw off the timing and rhythm of the batter.

2022 RHP Dylan Lesko (East Cobb Astros/Padres Scout Team)
The top ranked 2022 in the country was electric in relief work, striking out five in two innings while running his fastball up to 94. Mostly sat 91-94 mph with life, mixing in a sharp slider at 76-77 mph, and a 81-82 mph changeup. Ball jumps out of his hand. Lesko will continue to be a very strong follow moving forward with big upside.

2021 RHP Cameron Clines (FTB/Giants Scout Team)
The uncommitted righty came in for relief using mostly all fastballs, sitting 88-91 mph with run, touching 92. Also mixed in a 73-74 mph curveball. He has a 6-3, 200 frame with a stronger lower half. Quick arm and stays balanced throughout his delivery. Has made a nice jump in velocity and is one of the top uncommitted arms left in the state for his class.

2020 LHP Ashe Ammerlaan (South Florida Bandits)
Currently stands at 6-foot-2, 185 pounds with a physical lower half, still some room to fill out his frame up top. Easy working arm that created plenty of movement on his fastball which sat at 87-89 mph, touching 90 while mixing in a 70-71 mph curveball. Struck out two in two innings of work.

2022 MIF Termarr Johnson (FTB/Giants Scout Team)
Shows athletic, quick twitch actions all over the field. Above average bat speed from the left side with some feel for the barrel. Speed is a plus for his age as he was clocked at 4.0 secs down the line for his home to first time.

2021 RHP Fisher Jameson (FTB Tucci)
Has a tall, long frame at 6-foot-4, 205 pounds with room to fill out. Sat 86-88 mph with his fastball, touching 89 whole mixing in a 71-72 mph curveball. Curveball showed depth and generated swings and misses. More velocity to come as he fills out.
