The Bears Roll as they Defeat St. Augustine HS 12-1
The Bartram Trail Bears visited the St. Augustine Yellow Jackets in what would prove to be run-away victory for the visiting team. The Bears chipped away early on with several runs before pouring it on in the 4th inning on their way to a 12-1 victory in five innings.
The Bears started 2024 RHP Schuyler Sanford who featured a fastball that sat 83-86 mph, touching 87 while mixing in a 77-78 mph slider and 75-76 mph changeup. The Florida State commit shook off some early base runners and was able to generate weak contact along with multiple swings and misses. 2023 RHP Jake Malec (struck out the side) 2024 RHP Jesse Murrell, and 2024 RHP Cameron Nadeau would each throw an inning, shutting out the Yellow Jackets for the rest of the night.
Offensively, the Bears received some big hits from Notre Dame commit 2023 OF Brody DeLamielleure (1-2, double, RBI) 2022 IF Alex Lodise (1-3, double, RBI) 2022 OF Noah Wood (1-2, double, 2 RBIs) and Jacksonville commit 2022 IF Justin Nadeau (2-3, 3 runs scored)
With the win, the Bears moved to 1-0 on the year while the Yellow Jackets fell to 0-1.

2024 RHP Schuyler Sandford (Bartram Trail HS, FL)
Very strong follow as he shows lots of upside with a frame that projects for much more to come. The FSU commit sat 83-86 mph, touching 87 along with a 77-78 mph slider and 75-76 mph changeup with fade. More in the tank and the arm really works. Generates swings and misses on all three of his pitches. Sandford will continue to make jumps as he refines his mechanics as the ceiling is very high.
2023 OF Brody DeLamielleure (Bartram Trail HS, FL)
The Notre Dame commit has fast hands, above average athleticism. During one of his at-bats he was able to get enough of one and drive it deep into left-center field for an RBI double.
2022 IF Justin Nadeau (Bartram Trail HS, FL)
Jacksonville commit. Roped a ball down the right field line for a line drive single with loose, easy hands through the zone from the left side. Smooth swing.
2022 OF Noah Wood (Bartram Trail HS, FL)
Uncommitted. Showed quick hands from the left side when he laced a ball deep into centerfield for a 2-run double during one of his at bats. Some present feel for the barrel.
2021 C Hayden Henry (Bartram Trail HS, FL)
Daytona State commit. Really was impressive behind the plate defensively as he threw out multiple base runners on the night, displaying an above average arm with carry.
