Seminole HS Moves to 5-1 in Road Victory at Hagerty
Last night the visiting Seminole Seminoles defeated the Hagerty Huskies 3-2 in a matchup that featured strong pitching outings from both sides along with some timely hitting late in the game. It was a pitching duel for the most of the game as 2020 RHP Jackson Grabsky (Jacksonville University commit) was the starter for the Huskies, delivering 6 strong innings and allowing 2 ER on 4 hits, 1 BB and 2 strikeouts. 2020 LHP Charlie McDaniel (Presbyterian commit) countered for the Seminoles with a strong outing himself going 6 innings, allowing 1 ER, 5 hits, while striking out 6 and 1 BB.
2020 OF Jalen Debose (FAU commit) provided an insurance run for the Seminoles in the top of the 7th by leading off with a liner into left field before stealing third, ultimately scoring standing up on a deep fly ball from 2020 IF Greg Fonseca.
The Huskies started off the bottom of the 7th with a single and tacked on another run via an RBI groundout to make it 3-2, but Seminoles 2021 RHP TJ Melani was able to get the final batter to fly out to center, closing the door on the comeback.
With the win, Seminole moved to 5-1 on the year while Hagerty fell to 3-2.
