Last night’s final scores 02/17
Santaluces over Palm Beach Gardens 3-1
Palm Beach Central over Dwyer 7-0
Boca Raton over St. John Paul II 4-2
American Heritage Delray over Jupiter 12-0

2020 LHP Nelson Berkwich (American Heritage Delray HS, FL)
Vanderbilt commit. Berkwich was dominant in his start on Tuesday night, finishing with 10 strikeouts over 5 innings of work. Very poised and confident on the mound with a high level of pitchability. Came out of the gate firing, sitting 90-92 mph with run, touching 93 a few times before settling in and pitching at 88-90 the rest of the way, reaching back for one whenever he needed it with two strikes. Also mixed in an 82-83 mph changeup with fade, similar arm speed along with a 76-77 mph curveball that showed depth. When he didn’t induce a swing and miss, he would get an off-balance swing from the batter. Works with a quicker pace and when he gets in a groove, can put away a lineup quickly. Berkwich was very impressive in his start and will be a high follow this spring.

2020 LHP/OF CJ Kayfus (Palm Beach Central HS, FL)
Miami commit. Kayfus continued to stand out offensively, as he knocked in more runs throughout the night which included an at-bat that saw him drive a ball to the right-center field wall for an RBI triple. Really confident hitter who just seems to barrel everything up. Creates pressure on the base paths. Offensive weapon. On the mound, he showed a quick arm and sat 87-89 mph with his fastball, hiding the ball well and throwing a high percentage of strikes. Also mixed in a 71-72 mph curveball with tighter spin. Kayfus is one of the premium left-handed bats in the country and will continue to be a high follow this spring.

2020 MIF Michael Brooks (Palm Beach Central HS, FL)
Arkansas commit. Athletic frame with a strong lower half. Had one of the strongest nights offensively, driving the ball into left and left-center field for run scoring hits. Simple approach from the right side and generates power from his lower half upon contact. Stays balanced throughout with a present feel for the barrel. Jumps on the fastball when he sees it. Brooks will be another strong follow this spring as he shows big potential offensively.

2020 OF Bailey Uderitz (American Heritage Delray HS, FL)
Pepperdine commit. Uderitz stayed hot at the plate, going 3-for-4 with a double and RBI. During his first at-bat of the game he drove a ball through the right side of the infield for an RBI single. Present pull side pop from the left side and can drive the ball with intent when he squares. Should continue to be a consistent run producer in the lineup this season.

2020 MIF Jamal Johnson (Santaluces HS, FL)
Florida memorial commit. Lean, athletic frame. Showed present bat speed from the right side with some athletic, quick twitch actions. During one of his at-bats he drove a ball into left field for a hard hit line drive single. Gets out of the box with intent and looks to be an above average runner.
