Nova Southeastern Scout Day Standouts

Nova Southeastern Scout Day Standouts

This past Tuesday, players from the Nova Southeastern team went through a pro-style workout which consisted of the 60 yard dash, batting practice, and infield/outfield followed by a game.

Below are several standouts from the workout portion as well as the game with a brief report on each:

RHP JP Williams
Currently stands at 6-foot-3, 210 pounds on a tall, strong frame. Was impressive during his inning of work, running his fastball up to 94 multiple times. Ball really jumps out of his hand with a very quick arm. Mostly sat 90-93 mph with run along with a 78-79 mph slider, and an 83-84 mph changeup. Induced multiple swings and misses with strikeouts.

IF/RHP Duncan Pastore
High level of athleticism and makes an impact on the field in multiple ways. Put on several impressive rounds of batting practice, consistently finding the barrel for hard hit line drives, especially right back up the middle. Stays balanced and can really drive the ball. Above average defender as well.

RHP Jacob Bove
Tall, strong frame at 6-4, 215 pounds, creates some downhill action. Struck out three in his inning of work and really mixed up his pitches well. Mostly sat 88-90 mph with his fastball, touching 91 that showed life along with an 81-83 mph changeup, and 75-76 mph curveball with hard break. More velo to come.

OF Nathan Chevalier
Stood out in multiple ways throughout the day. Showed quick hands and a feel for the barrel during batting practice, driving the ball all over the field and really working in rhythm. Confident approach. Also displayed an above average arm during I/O as his throws were accurate to the bag with plenty of carry.

RHP Jarret Krzyzanowski
Currently stands at 6-1, 190 pounds. Displayed a quick arm in his inning of work, striking out one. Mostly sat 88-90 mph with his fastball, touching 91 while mixing in an 82-83 mph changeup, and a hard 80-81 mph hard slider which generated swings and misses.

OF Michael Uz
Projectable frame with athleticism. Took several solid rounds of batting practice, going gap-to-gap and showing a feel for the barrel from the right side. More power to come as he fills out. Drove one down the left field line for a double during the game.

C Joseph Raffaele
Strong frame, stays balanced throughout his swing. Showed above average bat speed with pull side pop from the right side. Creates loud, hard contact when he squares it up and can drive the ball with intent into the gaps.

OF Adan Fernandez
Tall, physical frame. Displayed gap-to-gap power during batting practice, driving the ball with intent. Ball really jumps off the bat with loud, hard contact.

RHP Marvin Guzman
Tall frame standing at 6-3, 225 pounds with a strong lower half. Struck out two during his inning of work. Mostly sat 89-91 mph with his fastball while mixing in a 75-76 mph curveball with depth. Can yank his arm a bit on his delivery, but when he stays in line he shows a better command of the zone.
