Fort Pierce Standouts Part 2

Fort Pierce Standouts Part 2

This past weekend, teams from the 2021-2023 classes came together in Fort Pierce, FL at the Lawnwood Baseball Complex for the 2019 PGBA Treasure Coast Showdown. Below are notes and reports on the second portion of players that stood on the second day of the event (Sunday)

Day 2

2022 C Chris Bono (Naturals Florida)
Squared the ball up multiple times over the weekend, continues that again on Sunday as he drove one into left field for an RBI single. Strong lower half which he utilizes at the plate.

2021 MIF Timo Aracena (Naturals Florida)
Showed athletic, advanced actions. Above average arm with range, confident hands up the middle. Athletic frame with room to fill out. Switch hitter, more fluid from the right side at the moment.

2022 C Vinny Alvarez (FTB Bullock)
Was pretty impressed on how he handled himself behind the plate. Shows soft hands, above average arm with accuracy, and keeps everything in front of him. Vocal, backs up when he needs to. Shows a higher level baseball IQ.

‘22 IF Jonathan Gonzalez (Gamblers North 2022)
One of the most impressive players offensively on the weekend, Gonzalez showed a feel for the barrel from the right side and drove the ball gap-to-gap for multiple base hits. Trusts his hands and the ball jumps off the bat. Tall, athletic frame at 6-2, 185. Strong follow.

2020 OF Anthony Ferreira (FTB Bullock)
Norfolk State commit. Displayed quick hands and athleticism, driving one into right field for a single. Also made a tremendous play laying out for a catch in center field.

2021 IF Connor Beare (FTB Bullock)
Had a standout weekend offensively, collecting a couple hits on Saturday and three hits in the following game. Present bat speed. Long, lean 6-1, 180 frame with projection.

‘22 OF Brady Nash (Gamblers North 2022)
Gets the job done out of the leadoff spot. Squared it up multiple times for base hits while also showing range and the ability to make the extraordinary plays. Came in on a hard line drive up the middle for a tough diving catch in center field. Heads up player.

2023 1B Dillon Huber (Main Baseball Academy)
Big, strong frame at 6-3, 205 and can really make loud, hard contact. The ball really jumps off the bat and there’s big power potential. Multiple extra base hits this weekend.

2023 C Kyle Peterson (TC Crusaders)
Quick hands in the box with a lean frame that will continue to fill out as he matures. Laced a ball into left field for a single.

2023 1B Jake Rychter (TC Crusaders)
Drove the ball all over the field. After tripling over the center fielder’s head in his first AB, at-bat, he followed it up with a line drive down the right field line for a double. Long, lean 6-0, 160 frame.

2022 OF Jacob Delano (Orlando Reds)
Strong weekend at the plate, going 3-for-3 in his last game after lacing a ball back up the middle for a single. Confident approach from the left side.

‘23 1B Jake Rychter (TC Crusaders)
Standout day offensively where he drove the ball into the gaps with intent, showed some feel for the barrel. Had two doubles and a triple in three at-bats.
