Mar 31 The First Academy Moves to 15-1 with 3-1 Victory

Last night the First Academy Royals visited the Masters Academy Eagles in what would end up resulting in a 3-1 win for the visiting team. Pivotal hits on offense for the Royals came from Matthew Perez and Riley Parker. Charlie Caporaso made an impact for the Eagles offensively, scoring their lone run.

Dewon Brazelton(The First Academy, FL) made his presence felt on the mound as he racked up six strikeouts through four innings and surrendered no runs to the Eagles in his outing. Ben Barrett(The First Academy, FL) came in for relief work and was impressive during his outing where he registered six strikeouts in three innings.

With the win the Bears moved to 15-1 while the Eagles fell to 8-7.

2022 RHP Dewon Brazelton Jr. (The First Academy, FL)
Uncommitted. Big, strong 6’6 frame who creates some downhill action. Was able to generate multiple swings and misses with his fastball. Mostly sat 80-84 mph with some run, topping out at 85. Brazelton will be a good follow to watch as he progresses. There’s more in there.

2022 C Riley Parker (The First Academy, FL)
UCF commit. Currently stands at 6-foot-1, 200 pounds with a strong lower half. Consistently found the barrel and created loud, hard hits. There’s some present pull side power as well. Implements his strong lower half into his swing.

2021 1B/LHP Charlie Caporaso (The Masters Academy, FL)
Uncommitted. Went 2-2 at the plate, adding a stolen base, and scoring a run. Showed great discipline at the plate and didn’t chase bad pitches.

2023 MIF Matthew Perez (The First Academy, FL)
Uncommitted. Has a lean, athletic 6’0 frame with room to fill out. Contributed to the Royals offense with an RBI single and scoring a run himself. Will be a strong follow as he progresses and fills out.
