Diamond Prospect Media HS 2022 All-Uncommitted 1st Team Released

This past high school regular and postseason, our scouting staff was able to see hundreds of players who stood out and made an impact for their team. The Diamond Prospect Media All-Uncommitted 1st Team features the top uncommitted players we covered and are highlighted below.

*Please note, these are players our scouting staff was able to see throughout the year. We know that there are many other uncommitted players who made an impact for their team as well. As always, please feel free to reach out to let us know how you performed and how we can make sure we see you during the summer. 

Congratulations to the following players on their great performances throughout the season:

1st Team C

  • 2023 C Justin Allen (Sickles HS, FL) Committed to Hillsborough Community College

  • Currently stands at 6-foot-2, 185 lbs on a physical, athletic frame. Implements his strong lower half into his swing well. Allen has displayed above-average bat speed along with present feel for the barrel. He also does a good job of implementing his strong lower half into his swing, which has been seen in his ability to drive the ball deep in the gaps and over the wall. Allen finished the season with a .308 BA, 10 runs scored on 24 Hits, 39 RBI, and 7 dingers, one of them being in a regional final, sending the Gryphons to their first final four since 1999. Allen helped push his team to the 6A District 6 Championship, Regional Championship, 6A State Semifinal appearance, and a 24-7 overall record, while earning a 2nd team All-Conference selection. Strong follow.

1st Team 1B

  • 2023 1B/C Daniel Restrepo (Doral Academy, FL)

  • Currently stands at 6-foot, 195 lbs on a physical frame with present strength throughout. Present feel for the barrel with fast hands through the zone. Displays gap-to-gap power with present pull side juice as well. Restrepo ended the year with a .375 BA, 21 Runs on 33 hits, 34 RBI, and a team leading 5 home runs, including one in a 6A State Final game. The Firebirds achieved a 25-4-1 overall record, 6A District 16 Championship, 6A Regional Championship, and 6A State Championship where he drove in the game-winning run off of a hard hit RBI single. Impact bat to keep an eye on, strong follow.

1st Team MIF

  • 2024 MIF Rylan Lujo (Majory Stoneman Douglas, FL)

  • Currently stands 6-foot-1, 180 lbs on an athletic frame with more to come. Above average bat speed and present feel for the barrel. Lujo displayed loose, quick hands translating into deep shots in the gaps for extra base hits. He ended the year with a .347 BA, 19 Runs, 25 Hits, and 18 RBI. The Eagles finished their season with a USA Baseball National High School Invitational Champions, 7A- District 13 Championship, 7A Regional Championship, and 7A State Championship with a 30-2 overall record. Lujo was also named to the USA Baseball National Highschool Invitational All Tourney 3rd Team. High follow as he continues to develop. 

  • 2023 MIF Richie Collazo (George Jenkins HS, FL) Committed to Campbell University

  • Stands at 6-foot-2, 190 lbs on an athletic, physical frame. Collazo displays quick hands through the zone with effortless power. He also showcases some present feel for the barrel, which resulted in a .392 BA, 20 Runs, 29 Hits, and 22 RBI. The Eagles finished the year with a 6A District 10 Championship, FHSAA 6A Regional Quarterfinal appearance, and 18-9 overall record. A player to watch this summer as he continues to develop.

1st Team 3B

  • 2023 IF/RHP Landon O’Donnell(Inspiration Academy) Committed to Hillsborough Community College

  • Currently stands at 6-foot-4, 210 pounds on a tall, athletic, projectable frame. O’Donnell displays multiple above-average tools that translate and show up in the game. Offensively he showcased loose, fast hands through the zone with present feel for the barrel. He has also displayed present power to all parts of the field. O’Donnell finished with a .375 BA, 28 Runs, 30 hits, 20 RBI, and 2 homers this season, pushing his team to a 2022 Open Division FICCA Championship and an 18-10 overall record. He’s also flashed some real two way potential on the mound as well, running his fastball up to 94 mph. One of the top uncommitted players not only in the state but nationally as well. Very strong follow.

1st Team OF

  • 2024 OF Julian Irizarry (Westminster Academy, FL) Committed to the University of Pittsburgh

  • Currently stands at 5-foot-10 on a lean frame with above average athleticism. Irizarry made a real impact from the leadoff spot. At the plate he displayed fast hands through the zone with present feel for the barrel. His above average athleticism translates well on the basepaths and in the OF as well, where he has shown the ability to kick it up into the next gear and rob the opposition of extra base hits. Irizarry finished the season with a .333 BA, 25 Runs, 25 hits, 10 RBI, 15 stolen bases, and 2 homers. The Lion’s finished the year with a 2A District 15 Championship, 2A Regional Semifinal appearance, and 18-10 overall record. In addition to the team success, Irizarry was named to the Sun Sentinel All County 1st Team and 2A District 15 All-District Team. High follow as we enter the summer.

  • 2023 OF Andrew Merchant (Lake Mary HS, FL)

  • Physical, athletic frame with a strong lower half. Merchant displays loose, quick hands with some feel for the barrel as well. Above-average runner on the basepaths as well.Merchant finished the season with a .415 BA, 16 RBIs on 34 hits, with 16 runs scored and a homerun as well. His individual efforts helped push the Rams to a 7A District 2 Semifinal appearance, and 14-12 overall record. He also earned a 1st team All Seminole Athletic Conference selection. Player to follow as we enter the summer.

  • 2023 OF/1B Andrew Clymer (Lake Minneola HS, FL)

  • Standing at 6-foot-6 on a tall athletic frame that will continue to develop. Quick Bat. Displayed fast hands through the zone with present feel for the barrel. Clymer was an impact contributor for the Hawks offense, finishing the year at the plate with a .376 BA, 21 RBIs on 32 Hits, and 27 runs scored. He also led his team with 6 home runs. Clymer delivered big in the postseason as well, going 3-4 with 2 doubles, a triple, 3 runs scored, and an RBI in a district final. He also went 2-4 and homered in a 5A regional quarterfinal win. The Hawks finished the year with a 5A District 10 Championship 5A Regional Semifinal appearance, and 19-8 overall record. Impactful bat to watch as he continues to fill out and add more physicality. Strong follow moving forward.

1st Team SP

  • 2023 RHP Mack Estrada (Lakeland Christian, FL) Committed to University of South Florida

  • Currently stands at 6-foot-3.5 inches and 195 pounds on a projectable, athletic frame with more physicality to come. Quick working arm that has more in the tank. Estrada has displayed a fastball sitting 89-92 touching 93 mph with late run that’s consistently been in the 2400-2500+ RPM range. He also mixes in an effective slider with depth sitting 77-80 that has been up to 2700+ RPM, along with 79-81 mph changeup with fade. Does a good job of staying poised and holding his velocity as the game goes on, which was on display as he stayed in the low 90s through the fifth inning in multiple starts. In 44 innings pitched, Estrada posted a 1.91 ERA with 59Ks, resulting in an 8-0 record on the mound. His individual efforts helped the Vikings achieve a 3A District 7 Championship, 3A Regional Final appearance, and 22-6 overall record. High follow with plenty of upside going forward.

  • 2023 RHP Skylar Stinson (Apopka HS, FL) Committed to Barry University

  • Lean, athletic frame that projects to fill out. Quick, whippy arm with more in the tank. Stinson displayed a fastball at 86-88 touching 89 in the 2400-2500+ RPM range. He has also shown an above average feel for his curveball and slider, sitting 72-74 mph at 2500+ RPM and 76-78 mph 2600+ RPM. In 49.1 innings pitched he had a 1.70 ERA and 5-0 record while racking up 47 strikeouts. Stinson’s individual efforts helped Apopka get to a 7A District 2 Final appearance, FHSAA 7A Regional Semifinal appearance, and 20-9 overall record. Stinson already has an arsenal of pitches with an above average spin rate, as he continues to develop physically and add velocity he will only generate more swings and misses from the opposition. Strong follow.

  • 2024 RHP/IF Isaac Padilla (Lake Brantley HS, FL)

  • Has a big frame at 6-foot-2 that will continue to develop. Pounds the zone and creates multiple swings and misses. His fastball sits 81-83, topping out in the mid 80s. Padilla also mixes in an effective Slider with depth at 71-73 mph that he has shown good feel for. In 50.2 innings Padilla recorded 60 strikes with a 0.69 ERA leading to a 9-0 record on the mound. He had some big performances this year as well, including a complete game no-hitter with 11 Ks, throwing 72 percent of his pitches for strikes. The Patriots finished the year with a 7A District 2 Championship, FHSAA 7A Regional Semifinal appearance, and 24-5 overall record. In addition to the team's success, Padilla earned an All Seminole Athletic Conference 2nd Team selection. Arm to watch as we enter the summer. 

1st Team RP

  • 2024 RHP Robert Mitchell (Oviedo HS, FL) Committed to Wake Forest University

  • Currently standing at 5-foot-11 on an athletic frame with a strong lower half. Quick arm that pounds the zone and creates multiple swings and misses. Mitchell shows good feel for all the pitches in his arsenal, with his fastball sitting 86-88 mph showing present arm-side run. The change-up shows fade sitting 78-80 mph. He also mixes in a 74-77 mph slider showing depth, and a curveball at 70-72 mph with tighter spin. Over the course of the season Mitchell finished with 33 Ks in 34 innings pitched and played a part in the Lions achieving a 7A District 3 Semifinal appearance, a 7A Regional Quarterfinal appearance, and 15-12 overall record. He also earned an honorable Mention to the All Seminole Athletic Conference Team. A player to watch as he continues to develop and grow.

  • 2023 RHP Preston Rogers(Plant City HS, FL) Committed to Florida Gulf Coast University

  • Currently standing at 6-foot, 180 lbs on an athletic frame. Quick arm with more in the tank, Rogers shows good command for all four pitches in his arsenal. His fastball sits 85-87 mph, touching 88 with some late movement. He has also shown an above average feel for his curveball and change-up, sitting 65-67 and 80-82 mph. Rogers also mixes in a slider at 75-77 mph. In 35.2 innings pitched he had a 1.37 ERA, 4-0 record, and 3 saves while racking up 47 strikeouts. Rogers' individual efforts helped push the Raiders to a 7A District 6 Semifinal and 17-7 overall record. Arm to watch going into the summer.
