2019 WWBA 14U World Championship

This past weekend, some of the top teams nationwide came together at the FITTEAM Ballpark of the Palm Beaches in West Palm Beach, FL for the 2019 WWBA 14u World Championship.

Below is a list of 10+ players who stood out during the day on Friday and Saturday with a brief report on each:

2024 IF/RHP Andre Modugno (Elite Squad)
In his first at-bat of the game he laced a ball to left field for a line drive single. Above average bat speed with feel for the barrel from the right side. Tall, athletic frame at 6-3, 180. While he may have flown out to deep center field in his following at-bat, Modugno made loud, hard contact and the ball really jumps off the bat. Strong follow.

2024 MIF Austin Jacobs (Central Florida Select)
Had a standout day offensively where he went 3-for-3 in his first game which included two doubles. Roped one down the left field line for an RBI double, showing quick hands through the zone from the right side. Looks to be an above average runner as well.

2024 IF Tanner Waldrop (Elite Squad)
Crushed a ball deep into the left-center field gap for a standup double. Athletic frame with easy bat speed from the left side. Followed it up in his next at-bat by driving a ball back up the middle for a single.

2024 RHP/IF Heriberto Caraballo (Academia Pineda 14u)
Very quick arm, running his fastball up to 86 while mostly sitting 82-84 mph. Ball jumps out of his hand.

2024 LHP Talan Bell (Central Florida Select)
Struck out the side in his first inning of work. Mostly sat 79-80 mph with his fastball, touching 81 and mixing in a 72-73 mph changeup. Loose, quick arm.

2023 1B Ramon Ramirez (Academia Pineda 14u)
Laced a ball deep into the right-center field gap for a triple, ball jumped off the bat. Big frame with some pull side pop from the left side.

2024 MIF Jason Bello (Florida Hurricanes)
Shows easy bat speed from the right side with loose, quick hands, driving the ball deep into left-center field for a standup double during one of his at-bats. Athletic frame.

2024 RHP/IF Ulife Caraballo (Academia Pineda 14u)
Sat 83-85 mph with his fastball while mixing in a 73-75 mph curveball with depth. Athletic, projectable frame. Quick arm.

2024 1B/LHP Ryan Ashford (Central Florida Select)
Hammered one into right field for a line drive single. Ball jumps off the bat from the left side. Big, strong frame at 6-1, 170.

2024 RHP Zach Hopper (Central Florida Select)
Athletic, projectable frame. Showed a quick arm on the mound where he showed control of the zone and induced multiple swings and misses. Struck out multiple batters.

2024 C/1B Garrett Lorfano (Team Orlando)
Crushed one over the left field wall for a solo home run. Shows some present strength to the pull side.

2024 C Andy Perez (Central Florida Select)
Lead off the bottom of the 1st by lacing a ball into left field for a single. Perez also showed athleticism behind the plate.
