Ostingers Baseball Academy 2023 Summer Tryouts Standouts Part 3

On November 13th, Ostingers Baseball Academy held their 2023 Summer Tryouts at the Yankees Spring Training complex in Tampa, FL with close to 150 players in attendance. Players from the 2024-2026 classes went through a pro-style workout in the morning followed by live games in the afternoon. Below is Part 3 of the standout articles we will be releasing from the event on players that made an impact on our scouting staff and will be strong follows moving forward as we head into the spring season. Part 3

2024 OF/RHP Ryan Spitzer (Newsome HS, FL)

Uncommitted. Lean, athletic frame that will continue to fill out, become more physical. Shows present bat speed from both sides of the plate, allowing him to drive the ball not only to the pull side but the other way with a line drive approach. More power to come. Above average arm from the outfield with accuracy to his throws. Mid 80s on the bump as well. Strong follow. 

2025 C Michael Brooks (Calvary Christian HS, FL)

Uncommitted. Strong lower half. Was one of the top offensive standouts on the day. Found the barrel multiple times during his batting practice rounds, producing line drives back up the middle and into left-center field. Creates hard contact with quick hands through the zone. This translated to game action when he squared one up and laced a ball deep into the left-center field gap for a standup double. Strong follow.

2025 1B/RHP Carson Martin (Lakeland Christian, FL)

Uncommitted. Tall, projectable frame that will continue to fill out. Above average arm strength that shows up all over the field whether it be as a position player or on the mound. Been up to 87 mph with his fastball. Showed offensive potential during batting practice where he was able to drive the ball with intent. More power to unlock. Strong follow that will continue to make jumps. 

2026 OF/RHP Jackson McClellan (Durant HS, FL)

Uncommitted. Above average physicality for his age. From the outfield he stood out with strong and accurate throws during defensive drills. Offensively he utilizes his strong lower half to drive the baseball back up the middle. Quick hands and there’s some present power in there. Strong follow. 

2026 OF/LHP Luis Valentin-Ramos (Lennard HS, FL)

Uncommitted. Lean, athletic frame. Showed some quick twitch actions all over the field. Displayed a loose, quick arm from right field during defensive drills. Accurate throws with carry. Quick hands from the left side of the plate offensively that allowed him to produce multiple line drives. Strong follow. 

2026 OF Raymond Llanes (Strawberry Crest HS, FL)

Uncommitted. Athletic frame with present athleticism. Offensively he showed off loose, quick hands from the left side of the plate with more power in there. Stayed direct to the ball as was able to drive it back up the middle. Also clocked in at 6.93 seconds for his 60 yard dash time. Strong follow. 

2026 OF/RHP Trent Hicks (George Jenkins HS, FL)

Uncommitted. Strong lower half. Stood out offensively when he ripped multiple pitches back up the middle during his batting practice rounds, showing quick hands through the zone and trusting his hands. Stayed balanced throughout and worked in rythym form the right side of the plate. Strong follow.
