CBU Fall 2022 College Camp and Tryouts Standouts Part 2

From August 13-14th CBU held their Fall 2022 College Camp and Tryouts in Fort Myers, FL. Players from the 2023-2026 classes went through a pro-style workout and live games over the two-day stretch. Below is Part 2 of the standouts from the event that made an impact on our scouting staff and will be strong follows moving forward as we head into the fall season. 2023 1B James Hankerson (Berkeley Prep,FL)

Wake Forest commit. Currently stands at 6-foot-3, 230 pounds on a tall, physical frame. Present strength throughout. Switch hitter who can do damage from both sides of the plate as the ball really jumps off the bat. During batting practice from the right side he flashed pull side pop, driving several pitches deep over the left field wall. From the left side he consistently found the barrel and ripped multiple pitches back up the middle and to the pull side. Registered a top exit velocity of 98 mph. Strong follow. 

2024 SS/RHP Chayce Kieck (Bolles HS, FL)

Clemson commit. Currently stands at 6-foot, 175 pounds on an athletic, projectable frame. Stood out as a two-way throughout the weekend where he showed multiple above average tools. Offensively he displayed quick hands and ripped the ball back up the middle multiple times during batting practice, registering a top exit velocity of 94 mph. Up the middle defensively he fielded the ball under control and with confidence, topping out at 88 mph on his throws to the bag. Up to 89 mph on the mound as well. Strong follow.

2024 OF Cole Cleveland (Calvary Christian Academy, FL) 

Uncommitted. Currently stands at 6-foot-1, 170 pounds on an athletic, projectable frame. Stood out offensively during game action from the left side of the plate as he delivered two base hits on the day. First, he laced one into right-center field for an RBI Single. Quick hands and does a good job of staying balanced throughout. Followed that up with a standup RBI triple that was crushed into deep right-center field. Also topped out at 85 mph on his throws into home from the outfield. Clocked in at 6.60 seconds for his 60 yard dash time. Strong follow.

2024 1B/RHP Carter McCormick (Somerset Academy, FL)

Uncommitted. Currently stands at 6-foot-5, 215 pounds on a big, strong frame. Present physicality and will only continue to gain strength as he fills out his tall frame. Put on one of the loudest and most impressive batting practice rounds of the entire event, flashing big time power. Fast, strong hands through the zone that barreled it up with intent, sending multiple pitches deep over the left field wall. The ball really exploded off the bat and registered a top exit velocity 99 mph. This translated to game action with a hard hit line drive single. Strong follow. 

2026 OF Dillon Knight (Strawberry Crest HS, FL)

Uncommitted. Currently stands at 5-foot-11, 160 pounds on an athletic frame that projects with more power to come. Stood out offensively when he showed off a simple, direct approach during his batting practice rounds and worked gap-to-gap with above average bat speed. Some feel for the barrel. Registered a top exit velocity of 90 mph. Strong follow.

2026 1B/RHP Jasper Davis (DeSoto HS, FL)

Uncommitted. Currently stands at 6-foot-5, 250 on an extra large, strong frame for his age. Left handed bat to follow closely moving forward as he displayed strong hands through the zone and drove the ball deep into right field while lacing the ball into left- center field as well. Ball really jumps off the bat and the big power potential is there. Strong follow. 

2026 C Joey Lawson (Bishop Verot HS, FL)

Uncommitted. Currently stands at 5-foot-11, 172 pounds with some present strength throughout. Offensively he displayed above average bat speed during batting practice, allowing him to drive the ball back up the middle multiple times. This translated to game action when he barreled one into right field for a single. More power to come as he continues to mature. Strong follow.

2024 MIF Tyler Lichtenberger (West Boca HS, FL)

Uncommitted. Currently stands at 6-foot, 160 pounds on a lean, athletic frame. Room to fill out. Offensively he displayed fast hands from the left side, showing off pull side juice and driving the ball deep into right field during batting practice. Stays balanced and looks to work in rhythm. More power to come. 

2026 IF/UTL Nathaniel Roldan (Land O’ Lakes HS, FL)

Uncommitted. Currently stands at 5-foot-10, 155 pounds on a lean, athletic frame. Room to fill out which should translate to jumps in power offensively. Loose, quick hands with a present feel for the barrel, allowing him to drive the ball with intent. This translated to game action when he delivered a hard hit single into right-center field. Registered a top exit velocity of 91 mph. Strong follow.

2024 MIF Elijah Boswell (A3 Academy, FL)

Uncommitted. Currently stands at 5-foot-8, 155 pounds on a compact, athletic frame. Loose, fast hands and stays direct and quick to the ball. This translated to game action he ripped one back up the middle for an RBI single. His above average athleticism was seen as well when he clocked in at 6.75 for his 60 yard dash time. Strong follow.

2026 RHP/IF Jimmy Huard (Western HS, FL)

Uncommitted. Currently stands at 6-foot-3, 175 on a tall, projectable frame. Plenty of room to fill out and add physicality. Arm that needs to be closely followed moving forward as he ran his fastball up to 89 mph. The ball really jumps out of his hand and there’s much more to come. High ceiling player.
