TNXL Academy Defeats Elite Squad Baseball Academy 8-4

Visiting Elite Squad Baseball Academy started off with one of their power arms in 2021 RHP Irving Carter who sat 89-90 mph, touching 92 a couple times along with an 81-82 mph slider. The Miami commit would get some strikeouts early on, but some timely hitting coupled with some mishaps in the field would give TNXL Academy a big 7-1 early lead. The duo of 2022 OF Elijah Green and 2021 C Jaime Ferrer powered the TNXL lineup offensively and not only drove in runs themselves, but scored on the rest of the lineup hitting them in as well. 

OF Elijah Green was very aggressive on the base paths and created a lot of pressure on the pitcher, swiping three bases. C Jaime Ferrer went 3-for-3 which included two doubles. Elite Squad Baseball Academy would chip away and push across a few more runs later on, but it wouldn’t be enough as TNXL secured the 8-4 victory. 2021 LHP Michael Quevedo, who is an Arkansas-Little Rock commit, would earn the win for TNXL Academy after four solid innings of work and 8 strikeouts.

Standouts of the Game

2022 OF Elijah Green (TNXL Academy, FL)
Miami commit. Very athletic. Stood out all over the field, especially on the base paths where he stole multiple bags. Gets good jumps. Quick bat from the right side and drove a ball up the middle for an RBI single in one of his at-bats.

2021 C Jaime Ferrer (TNXL Academy, FL)
Uncommitted. Had a strong day at the plate which included a double that he laced into the left-center field gap. Strong lower half and makes hard contact. Blocked well behind the plate, especially on the breaking balls. 

2021 RHP Irving Carter (ELite Squad Baseball Academy, FL)
Miami commit. Tall, strong frame. Flashed an 89-90 mph fastball that touched 92 a couple times. Also threw a hard 81-82 mph slider. Got some strikeouts early on and pitches with intensity.
