STANDOUTS
2021 RHP Brodie Chestnutt (Houston County High School, GA)
The FSU commit earned the win on Wednesday night, allowing only one hit in four innings while tallying six strikeouts. The 6 foot 4, 225 lb. Chestnutt pounded the strike zone all night long with his fastball, and kept hitters off balance with a tight breaking ball.
2020 INF Jacob Profit (Houston County High School, GA)
The Reinhardt signee was the spark for the Bears offense in the early innings on Wednesday. Profit drew a leadoff walk in the first inning, and stole second before he eventually crossed the plate. In the second inning Profit came through with a two RBI double to increase Houston County’s lead. Profit had two stolen bases, and puts constant pressure on the defense with his plus speed.
2023 1B Andrew Dunford (Houston County High School, GA)
The uncommitted freshman was very productive at the plate against Veterans HS. The 6 foot 6 Dunford went 3-4 Wednesday night, and scored two runs for the Bears. Has a good feel for the strike zone.
2021 RHP Coleman Willis (Houston County High School, GA)
The UGA commit came in to pitch in relief for the Bears tossing two hitless innings while striking out three of the six batters he faced. Willis attacked hitters with his fastball throughout the count showing great command.
