Power Baseball 2022 Fall Season Tryout Camp Standouts Part 3
From August 19th-21st Power Baseball held their 2022 Fall Season Tryout Camp with close to 250 players in attendance. Players from the 2023-2026 classes went through a pro-style workout, bullpens, and live games over the three-day stretch that took place at Turn 2 Sports and Performance along with the Boombah Sports Complex. Below is Part 3 of 3 of the standout articles we will be releasing from the event on players that made an impact on our scouting staff and will be strong follows moving forward as we head into the fall season. 2023s
2023 RHP Christian Bermudez (South Lake HS, FL)
Uncommitted. Currently stands at 6-foot, 160 pounds on a lean frame that will continue to fill out. Quick arm with more in there. Featured a fastball that mostly sat 83-85 mph, touching 86. Present feel for both his off-speed pitches including a slider which showed tight spin at 73-74 mph along with an above average changeup at 77-79 mph.
2023 RHP Jack Garvey (Canterbury HS, FL)
Uncommitted. Currently stands at 6-foot-4, 185 pounds on a long, lean frame that really projects. Another arm that stood out over the weekend, running his fastball up to 90 mph while mostly pitching at 87-89 with his life to it. He also mixed in a 79-80 mph changeup and an 81-82 mph slider. Strong follow this fall with more in the tank.
2023 OF Anthony Cole (Montverde Academy, FL)
Florida Gulf Coast commit. Currently stands at 6-foot-4, 210 pounds on a physical, athletic frame. Continued to show off his offensive firepower during batting practice as he barreled up multiple pitches, flashing present power all over the field. Ball really jumps off the bat. Still room to fill out his frame which should translate to jumps in power.
2024s
2024 C Evan Taveras (Canterbury HS, FL)
USF commit. Currently stands at 6-foot-1, 198 pounds on a physical, athletic frame. Was highlighted multiple times this summer for his offensive impact as he showed above average bat speed, finding the barrel multiple times for deep drives to left field and center field during batting practice from the right side. Showed off present bat speed from the left side as well, driving it back up the middle and into the left-center field gap. Displayed his high-level defensive prowess with multiple throws on the money down to 2B with pop times ranging in the 1.89-1.97 seconds range. Quick catch and release. Continues to trend upward in his class, strong follow.
2024 RHP Elliot Sande (Deland HS, FL)
Miami commit. Currently stands at 6-foot-3, 195 pounds on a tall frame that projects. Works from a deliberate windup and gets extension out in front on his delivery. Showed off a loose, whippy arm during his bullpen, running his fastball up to 89 mph and pitching at 87-88. More in there and a jump could be coming fairly soon. Also mixed in an 81-83 mph changeup with some late fade along with a 73-74 mph curveball. Strong follow.
2024 RHP/IF Anthony Wilkie (Buchholz HS, FL)
Clemson commit. Currently stands at 6-foot-6, 215 pounds on an extra large frame with some present strength throughout. Frame projects to continue to fill out. Throws a heavy fastball down in the zone up to 89 mph, pitching mostly at 87-88. Also mixed in a 79-80 mph changeup and a 74-75 mph curveball. Flashed some present power from the right side during batting practice as well. Strong follow.
2024 OF Ty Head (Windermere HS, FL)
North Carolina State commit. Currently stands at 6-foot-3, 187 pounds on a long, athletic frame. Stood out offensively when he displayed loose, quick hands from the left side and the ability to barrel it up for deep drives into right-center field. Stays balanced and works in rhythm. Frame projects to add physicality which should translate to jumps in power. Clocked in at 6.86 seconds for his 60 yard dash time and topped out at 85 mph on his throws from the outfield. Strong follow.
2025s
2025 RHP Kyle Hopper (The First Academy, FL)
Uncommitted. Currently stands at 6-foot-5, 175 pounds on a tall, projectable frame. Continues to make strides on the mound with lots of upside. Featured a fastball that sat 82-85 mph, showing late life. Mixed in a slider at 77-79 mph along with a curveball at 67-69 mph. Filled up the zone and threw all his pitches for strikes. Expect to see multiple jumps as he continues to fill out, refine his mechanics. Strong follow.
2025 OF/RHP Luis Machado (Lake Nona HS, FL)
Uncommitted. Currently stands at 6-foot, 168 pounds on a lean, athletic frame. Stood out as a two-way throughout the weekend. On the mound he put together a strong bullpen, throwing plenty of strikes and running his fastball up to 88 mph, mostly pitching at 85-87. Also mixed in a slider at 73-75 mph that showed depth. Offensively he drove the ball all over the field from both sides of the plate, working gap-to-gap. Big arm from the outfield as well when he topped out at 91 mph on his throws to home from the outfield. Strong follow.
2025 OF/LHP Kai Lwin (Bishop Moore HS, FL)
Uncommitted. Currently stands at 5-foot-11, 190 pounds on an athletic frame with present physicality. Loose, quick arm from the high 3/4 slot that continues to make jumps. Ran his fastball up to 84 mph during his bullpen while pitching mostly at 81-83 with life. Mixed in a 73-75 mph slider as well with late movement. Offensively from the left side he showed fast hands and drove the ball back up the middle and to the pull side with intent. Topped out at 83 mph from the outfield on his throws to home. Strong follow.
2026s
2026 C/RHP Jayden Wise (TNXL Academy, FL)
Uncommitted. Currently stands at 5-foot-9, 130 pounds on a lean, athletic frame. Plays with high energy and stood out at multiple positions throughout the event. Quick arm and ran his fastball up to 82 mph, pitching at 79-81 during his bullpen. Also flashed a 73-74 mph slider and a 70-72 mph changeup with some late fade to it. Offensively he displayed quick hands and found the barrel often for lots of hard hit line drives during batting practice. Topped out at 78 mph on his throws from the outfield into home as well. Young player to follow closely.
2026 OF/RHP Brian Rudman (Trinity Catholic, FL)
Uncommitted. Currently stands at 5-foot-8, 165 pounds on a compact, athletic frame. Two-way prospect who stood out in multiple ways. On the mound he displayed a fastball at 80-82 mph while mixing in a 73-74 mph changeup and 67-69 mph curveball with depth. Offensively he showed above average bat speed and produced multiple line drives during batting practice. This translated to game action when he blasted one to deep right field for a standup double. Also topped out at 83 mph on his throws from the outfield into home.
2026 RHP Drew Kunz (Bishop Moore HS, FL)
Uncommitted. Currently stands at 5-foot-11, 148 pounds on a lean, athletic frame that will continue to fill out. Another young arm to follow with plenty of upside that stood out during the event. Fast arm, running his fastball up to 81 mph while pitching mostly at 79-80. Above average curveball with tight spin at 70-71 mph. Works from a simple windup and the ball comes out of his hand with ease. Much more in the tank. Strong follow.
