2019 World Comes to the Palm Beaches Showcase Standouts

On Thursday morning some of the top prospects at the World Comes to the Palm Beaches were in attendance at a morning showcase which entailed a pro-style workout. For a look at some of the stat performers from yesterday, CLICK HERE

Below is a brief report on several players who stood out at the showcase:

MIF Ismael Lopez (Team Renteria)
Had one of the most impressive showings all around in the group. Started off the day by clocking in at 6.69 secs in the 60 yard dash. Defensively he shows advanced, athletic defensive actions up the middle. Smooth fielder with sure hands and moves laterally with ease. Finished off the event by displaying a balanced approach with easy bat speed from the right side. Works in rhythm. Good follow.

MIF Daniel Bannon (Australia)
Athletic frame. Stood out offensively where he took a couple of strong rounds of batting practice in a row, going gap-to-gap and consistently finding the barrel from the right side. Above average defender.

IF Katoa Mairi (Australia)
Big, strong frame. Put on a power display during batting practice, showing raw power and driving the ball over the left field wall and deep into the right-center field gaps. When he stays fluid throughout his swing, the ball really jumps off the bat. Showed above average speed for his size, running a 6.99 secs 60 yard dash time.

OF/RHP Maxim Mrakovcic (Australia)
Tall with long limbs and plenty of room to fill out. Showed athleticism and an above average arm from the outfield, running it up to 89 on his throws from right field. Low mileage arm who has been up to the mid 80s on the mound as well.

C/IF Jacob Cordero (Puerto Rico)
Strong lower half, drives the ball with intent. Showed present power during batting practice, especially to the pull side. Ball really jumps off the bat with a balanced approach.

C Egduard Winterdaal (Aruba)
Took an impressive few rounds of batting practice, driving the ball all over the field with loud, hard contact. Strong hands through the zone and there's much more to come as he matures.

IF Daniel Benschop (Aruba)
Has a lean, athletic frame with room to fill out. Showed a feel for the barrel with quick hands during batting practice. Drove the ball gap-to-gap.

IF Danaika Gorchakov (Moscow Cardinals)
Lean, athletic frame. Showed some feel for the barrel from the right side with a level to uphill path through the zone, driving the ball gap-to-gap. Confident approach offensively.
